How we use your information

We use your information to create and manage your account, verify tutors, match students with suitable tutors near them, provide support, communicate important updates, and keep the platform safe. Identity and qualification documents are used solely for verification purposes.

How documents are stored

Uploaded identity and certificate documents are stored in a private location that is not publicly accessible. They can be viewed only by our authorised verification team, and are never shown on public profiles or shared with other users.

What is shown publicly

A verified tutor's public profile shows their name, photo, subjects, general locality, experience and reviews. Phone numbers and exact addresses are never displayed publicly. Contact details are shared between a parent and a tutor only after our team assigns that tutor to the student.

Children's information

Student information is provided and managed by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for giving consent to share it for the purpose of arranging tuition. We handle this information with particular care.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share contact details only as needed to complete a tutor–student match, and with trusted service providers (for example, SMS or email delivery) strictly to operate the service. We may also disclose information where required by law.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, improve website performance, analyse traffic, and measure the effectiveness of any advertising. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features of the site may not work properly if you do.

Google and Facebook lead forms

If you submit your details through Google Ads lead forms, Facebook lead forms, or similar platforms, that information is collected only to respond to your enquiry and to provide TutorLynk services.

How we communicate with you

Your rights and data deletion

To delete your account and data, log in and use "Delete my account & data" in your dashboard, or email us at the address below. Once we receive your request, our team reviews and processes it, and we email you a confirmation when it is complete.

When an account is deleted, we remove your personal identifiers (name, contact details, address, photo) and permanently delete uploaded identity and certificate documents. Some limited records connected to past tutor–student arrangements may be retained for a reasonable period where necessary for safety, dispute resolution, or legal compliance, after which they are purged. Deleted accounts no longer appear anywhere on the platform.

Website terms of use — use licence

Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of the materials (information or software) on the TutorLynk website for personal, non-commercial use only. This is the grant of a licence, not a transfer of title, and under it you may not:

• modify or copy the materials;
• use the materials for any commercial purpose, or for any public display (commercial or non-commercial);
• attempt to decompile or reverse-engineer any software or material on the website;
• remove any copyright or other proprietary notices from the materials; or
• transfer the materials to another person, or "mirror" them on any other server.

This licence ends automatically if you breach any of these restrictions, and may be ended by TutorLynk at any time. On termination, or when your right to view the materials ends, you must destroy any downloaded materials in your possession, whether in electronic or printed form.
